Every mother needs mothering

 In Uncategorized

With just a little less sleep or a little more stress, my not-so-pretty colors pop to the surface. Those things “which do so easily beset me” (2Nephi 4:18) sure can push my buttons … and, sadly, it doesn’t take much pushing to show off just how weak I am.

That’s why I’m especially thankful for the scriptural promise that He will “make weak things strong unto them” (Ether 12:27) … for I am that weak thing.

Tonight, I’m feeling ever-so weak … I’m exhausted … I’m downhearted … I’m drained. There’s not an ounce more to give. I treasure my family and believe I have a breezy beautiful life … {I’m most thankful!} … and yet I’m still feeling down and out. Know anyone who feels the same? Every mother needs to be mothered sometimes. So, to all the grown mamas who yearn for someone else to brush our teeth, fluff our pillow and cradle us with compassion … I hear you! But much more important than that, He hears. He knows. He cares. And He’s sending His sweet Spirit to sing soft lullabies … the tunes that bring true rest for the weary. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Let’s lay our worries on the floor, and climb into His arms.
